Issues and Values

Protect our natural and cultural heritage.

I care deeply about the places and people that make Washington County home. As a runner and hiker, I experience our mountains and towns not merely as scenery, but as part of our shared heritage and a responsibility we hold for current and future generations. From our parks and waterways to our trails and historic communities, these places deserve careful stewardship. That means making thoughtful decisions about growth, listening to residents, and putting long-term responsibility ahead of short-term interests.

Support public schools and science-based education.

Our students deserve classrooms grounded in curiosity, critical thinking, and opportunity. Education shapes the future of our workforce, our healthcare systems, and the way businesses serve our communities. When we invest in learning grounded in evidence and opportunity, we build a healthier, more resilient East Tennessee.

Invest in smart growth and infrastructure.

As our community grows, we must invest in infrastructure that supports people without losing what makes this place home. I believe we can expand responsibly by protecting our environment, respecting neighborhoods, and keeping housing within reach for the families who live and work here.

Promote affordable, stable housing for families.

Growth should strengthen our community, not strain it. That means supporting affordable, stable housing so working families and seniors can stay and thrive in the places they call home. Thoughtful planning can expand opportunity while protecting the character and stability of our neighborhoods. Everyone deserves the dignity of a safe, affordable place to live.

Put dignity, fairness, and community first.

Decisions should be shaped by the people who live here, not made over their heads. I will work to center dignity, fairness, and community voices in local government. Because when your voice matters here, our community grows and thrives together.
