Meet Lori

Hello, neighbor. I’m Lori, and I’m running for our local Washington County Commission - District 10. Johnson City, Tennessee, has been my home for over two decades, and I’ve lived in the Tri-Cities for most of my life. Like many people, my relationship with this place has grown and changed over the years. Today, I feel deeply connected to this community and grateful to call it home. That gratitude is at the heart of why I chose to run for County Commission.

I am a graduate of East Tennessee State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a focus on land use planning and natural resource management. My college years were challenging and transformative, pushing me to grow in ways I still carry with me today. I graduated with academic distinction, including magna cum laude honors and being named Geology Student of the Year. Returning to higher education later in life taught me the value of perseverance and service - lessons that continue to guide how I show up in my community.

In my free time, I stay connected to this community through running and hiking our trails, baking custom cakes as a creative hobby, and caring for the pets of friends and neighbors. I share my home with my husband and our cats, and these everyday moments keep me grounded in the place I love.

I care deeply about fairness, dignity, and creating space for people to be heard – not just during elections, but every day. I believe local government works best when it listens first and serves with integrity. My goal is to serve with care and respect, and work alongside my neighbors for a stronger Washington County.
